Burn After Reading: Make the humor

already said Godard film critic to do is make movies. It is also true that making films is not necessary to make critical and sometimes do (self) criticism is to do movies. It sounds complicated but it is as simple as doing what we like to do, what we do best or what we do to be. This ad hoc reflection comes from the American comedy in recent months and the emergence of the seal of quality in what until recently was working away. I do not wonder Tropic Thunder is now claimed ahead of Zohan, hair styling license because a reflection is an artistic intellectual and the other is the artistic in itself, raw, like we did not like someone said before we should like. Personally I prefer the intellectual reflection to make a film that subsequent footnotes page of a rival, however intellectual it may seem. I prefer a Tropic Thunder Zoolander, Borat Zohan and Step Heartbreak Kid you. I prefer to make the mood to explain it to friends.

The new Coen brothers film builds to laugh but not as a referential or postmodern process ("poshumor? Posterity? Posqueyolovalgo?) but as confirmation of a consolidated personal itinerary around the rings that surround their own generic films. That is, the laughter built mechanisms that moviegoers have always used for shaping his films, his speech and his timing. With few additives extracinematográficos, with few concessions to the gallery (the Oscars) and the anterior and impersonal No Country for Old Men, with an uncompromising cynicism and nihilistic vision for any organization attempting to bring order to chaos irremediable exist. The approach is as simple as questioning any idea or cliche, and not blindly believe in the dictionary, a distrust of any nomenclature. The Coens are wondering about the comedy and the answer can not be more dramatic. Try to find an accurate definition and the only conclusion is that even intelligence (perhaps more than anything or maybe) is relative. If a car goes from point A to 60 km / h and a point B at 45 km / h that we have to ask what have we to do with those two cars. Or why the B is always ahead of the A or 45 is less than 60 and 77. Therefore

Burn After Reading is subversive without having to appeal to Che Guevara or skinning a live paya marketing while calling the ambulance van. No. The Coens prefer to deny the natural from the start, the argument or interpretation (Tex Avery rules). Wisely prefer to use a staging schizoid and a wonderful sense of rhythm that makes nearly everyone would seem that the last 40 minutes of the film are the best of it. Is a more qualitative than quantitative and is a more engineering work to finish. And from the beginning. And so since the credits begin to torpedo know prevailing moral (and opposition) with a sense of humor that stems from the lack of sense (of humor and the other) that he tries to impose on our world. The Coens use the same resource and are dedicated to humor us as we begin to fear us ourselves. And laugh. And fear us. And laugh of our fear.
